Bharatya Janta Party’s General Secretary L.K Advani demanded on April 23 1984 that the maintenance of law and order in Punjab should be entrusted to the army.
Shiv Sena called for imposition of martial law in the State of Punjab (May 1 1984) to protect the Hindus.
The National Democratic Alliance leaders Mr. Charan Singh and Atal Behari Vajpayee urged the Centre (May 3 1984) not to hesitate in sending forces inside the Gurdwaras in Punjab with a view to flushing out “terrorists” seeking shelter there They were attending a rally at the Boat Club.
Balraj Madhok President All India Janasangh demanded on May 27 1984 that Punjab should be handed over to army.
A delegation of the Arya Samaj met Mrs. Gandhi on May 30 1984 and suggested that either Punjab should go to the army or an emergency should be declared in the State.
Above facts speak for themselves that Mrs. Indira Gandhi made the decision to go ahead with Operation Blue Star with the explicit approval and support of all the Hindu organizations and leaders None of them can deny the dirty role they played against the Sikhs. It should also serve to open the eyes of those who mistakenly believe that Sikhs have no fear from Hindus and who talk of the age old ties between the two communities.
