MIAMI BEACH Reuter: The United States won the knockout bridge team championship by defeating Pakistan in the American team’s first victory.
The Americans decisively beat a tired Pakistan squad by 350 international match points to 207.
The new world champions are Steve Robinson Captain Peter Boyd Robert Libsitz and Ed Man field all from Washington D.C Kit Wolsey from Kensington California and Neil Silverman from New York City.
The losers all from Karachi are captained by Zia Mahmood.
The championships continue with the World Open and Women’s Pairs Championships.
