CHANDIGARH India: Some young men succeeded {in rescuing two convicts after killing a Havildar and wounding four constables near Ganga Nagar in Rajasthan. The convicts Rajinder Singh and Gajjan Singh were being taken from Ganga Nagar to Bikaner for appearance in the court both were undergoing life imprisonment for the murder of a former MLA Gurdial Singh.
According to a police spokesman some young men opened fire at the accompanying police party near Mohan Nagar railway station killing the head constable Jugal Kishore on the spot and seriously injuring four other constables. The injured were admitted to the hospital. Their condition is stated to be serious Police sources feel that the freedom fighters of Punjab may be responsible for the act. The case is being investigated. Meanwhile Punjab and Rajasthan border has been sealed so as to prevent the killers from escaping into Punjab.
