LONDON: S. Gurmej Singh Gill issued the following statements;
The Sikhs of Great Britain welcome the declaration of the new independent Sikh State of Khalistan to be formed on the Indian sub-continent. They fully support the holy proclamation issued from the supreme seat of Sikh temporal power The Akal Takht (seat of the timeless one) in Amritsar, Punjab.
They will use every peaceful means at their disposal to assist in the establishment of their own independent Sikh homeland of Khalistan.
They call on Her Majesty’s Government to recognize the State of Khalistan and to open diplomatic. Channels with the Republic of Khalistan (in exile)
They call on the other people and countries of the world to acknowledge the existence and need for Khalistan, The Sikh community in India has been continually denied legitimate human rights and their civil liberties have been brutally suppressed by the Congress (I) regime. Torture, rape, police harassment and murder by both Congress (I) agencies and extremist Hindu groups have been repeatedly pointed out by Amnesty International. Both the Geneva Convention and the U.N, Declaration of Human Rights have been flouted time and again by the Indian Government. The only course open for the Sikh people is self-determination.
They deplore the action taken by the Indian Government in seeking to arrest the Sikh leaders who declared the new independent Sikh State of Khalistan.
