Ram R.P. Singh was re-elected for a second term of three years as a member of the Board of Education for the Branchburg School District, Somerset County of the state of New Jersey. Statewide elections for the school Board members were held on April 15, 1986. Previously he was elected to this post in 1983, He was also re- elected as Vice President of the Board of Education for the year 1986-87.
Branchburg school District is governed by an elected Board of Education, Board’s primary function are to make, amend and repeal rules, consistent with the law of the state and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education, for its: own employment, regulation of conduct and discharge of its employees, and perform all acts and do all things consistent with law and the rules of the State Board, necessary for the lawful and proper conduct, equipment and maintenance of the public schools of the district. Board is responsible for making policies and regulations for the benefit of the school district that influence the course of education in the during the first term ,he served as a chairman of finance & budget, and long Range planning committees in addition to being Branchburg liaison to state and federal legislators and the New Jersey school Board Association. This year Mr.Singh has been selected by the New Jersey School Boards Association to conduct a three day orient session for the newly elected school board members. Ram Rachpal Singh is among the founder of the World Sikh Organization who was responsible for holding the first Sikh international conference in NEW-york on July 28, 1984.
