CHANDIGARH: The Chief Minister said that one person from every evicted family would be given a government job or a mini bus permit or some other gainful placement, Full compensation would be given for houses, trees and underground pipes laying on the acquired land, Compensation would also be paid for the standing ‘crops and any part of land that is not required but is useless because of construction work. Punjab accord lays down that SYL will be completed by August 15, this year. Chief Minister, Mr. Suit Singh Barnacle said that in their reply to questions that Punjab Gov’t would do its best to complete the Canal butts construction is pending due to the territorial issue under the accord. The memorandum of settlement with the Central Government also stipulates that the entire compensation for the land would beg venin one installment. Compensation would be given to every family on priority basis. Twenty residential blocks at Mohali, and urban state would also be allotted to the affected households in reserve price in consultation with the Action Committee. Some plots will also be made available to them at Morinda grain Market in Ropar District. When Mr. Barnala’s attention was drawn to the BKU that the talks of settlement had failed. The Chief Minister hoped that the Construction wouldn’t be obstructed now. If any section caused obstruction it would be removed. Mr. Barnala said earth work from 0-26 KM has been completed to the extent of 77% and 76-121 KM up to the 80% and aligning was done there.
