The First Sikh Newspaper was started by Lehna Singh in 1876 from ‘Amritsar. The name of the paper was Ahluwalia Gazette and was started in English Language.
The First Panjabi Language Newspaper was started by Bhai Gurmukh Singh in 1880 from Lahore.
Singh Sabha movement was started in 1873 and Khalsa Diwan was established in 1883. Both these institutions played a significant role in the protection of Sikhism as well as in educating the Sikhs about Sikhism.
