CHANDIGARH: The five-member screening committee appointed by Damdami Taksal and the all India Sikh Student Federation got vacated over sixty rooms of Sri Guru Ram Das Serai within the Golden Temple Complex. These rooms have been occupied since a Jong time by the illegal occupants and by those who have prolonged their stay in these rooms, according to the rules of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parban dhik committee a visitor or a pilgrim can’ not ‘occupy a room in the Serai for ‘more than four days. The committee after getting these rooms vacated by the illegal occupants handed them over to the Management of S.G.P.C. Inquiries reveal that the management of S.G.P.C. had no information about the occupants or how they had got possession of these rooms. Some of the rooms which had been locked by the pilgrims who had left Amritsar, were unlocked by the committee in their presence. Mr. Kuldip Singh Kahlon Finance Secretary of the AISSF, told that Federation had nothing to do with the ‘Akali Dal or its dissident Jathedars. Ours is an independent organization.

We consider Damdami Taksal as our senior religious organization.
