NAIROBI, Kenya At least 10 people a day are dying from an outbreak of cholera in four refugee camps in Somalia, a statement issued by the Somali Embassy said Friday.

‘An embassy spokesman said the outbreak erupted in the Tog Wajaleh camp near the northern provincial capital of Hargeisa in December and spread to three other ‘camps in central Somalia.

The statement said the outbreak of cholera in Tog Wajaleh and three central Somali camps is affecting about 75,000 people. An outbreak of cholera in several northern camps last year killed more than 2,000 people. Somalia has about 600,000 refugees, the largest refugee population in Africa, Most of them have ‘come from Ethiopia to escape famine and droughts.
