NEW DELHI: Chandrajeet Yadav, former central minister, Dec 12 announced his decision to join former premier V P Singh’s Janata Dal.
Yaday, who formed the Social Justice Movement (SJM) after resigning from the Congress I, told reporters that about 10,000 Congress supporters and SJM activists, would also join the Janata Dal with him at a special convention at Lucknow on December 21.
Yadav, who is the chairman on the SJM, said V P Singh, had popular support for his secular ideas and policies on the job reservation policy and that was the reason of his joining the Janata Dal.
He said the special convention of the Janata Dal at Lucknow, would be addressed among others by V P Singh, J D president, SR Bommai, Ajit Singh, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, Ram Vilas Paswan, Sharad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister, Laloo Prasad Yaday besides left leaders like Harikrishan Singh Surjeet, Inderjit Gupta, Chitta Basu and Tridib Choudhury.
