NEW DELHI: Khushwant Singh has denounced the Panthic code of conduct for journalists saying it was short of bullying and a total denial of freedom for the writer.
Singh said that at no time in the past had he paid any heed to threats to his life and that he had not the slightest intention of abiding by any such code of conduct now.
Khushwant Singh was participating in a panel discussion on Punjab and the role of media.
Singh said the government had to feel equally responsible for the safety of journalists.
If we have to knuckle under threats from these thugs then the government will have much to answer for, he said.
