JALANDHAR: Last year’s winners Punjab and Sind Bank (Delhi) and the runners up Border Security Force (Jalandhar), are among the 28 teams that will participate in the 10day seventh All India Hockey Tournament to be held on the turf at the local Burlton Park Stadium from November 10, according to Mr N.S. Kang, president of the Surjit Singh Memorial Tournament Society.
Mr Kang, told a Press conference here that four foreign teams will also participate. The winners will pocket Rs 30,000 while the runners up will get Rs 20,000 in cash.
The best goalkeeper, full back, half back and forward will be awarded Rs 2,000 each. A subcommittee has been formed to select four players during the tournament.
Former Olympian Udham Singh (BSF) will monitor the tournament as Chief Technical Delegate of the JHF.

Mahindra (Bombay), All India State Bank (Lucknow), FCI (Calcutta), Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala), Punjab Police (Jalandhar), ASC (Jalandhar), EME (Jalandhar), JCT Mills (Phagwara), Oil and Natural Gas Commission (Dehradun), Punjab and Sind Bank (Delhi), BSF (Jalandhar), IFFCO, (Delhi) India Air Force (Bombay), Corps of Signals (Jalandhar), South Eastern Railway (Calcutta), PSEB (Patiala), All India Customs (Chandigarh), Namdhari XI (Sirsa), Southern Railway (Madras), Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar), Bharat Petroleum (Bombay), North Eastern Railway (Gorakhpur), Yugoslavia XI, Malaysia XI, Ideal Club (Lahore) and Bahawalpur Club (Pakistan).
