BEIJING: Pakistan extended India’s thirst for the Asian Games gold in men’s hockey for another four years by inflicting a clear 32 victory in the deciding league match here on Friday. Justice was done when a decidedly superior team won on a day when the Indians played on a wholly defensive approach and a wrong starting lineup. While an unbeaten Pakistan deservedly won the gold medal after a lapse of eight years, the silver for India was poor consolation. Earlier Malaysia regained their third position which they had conceded to India in the Seoul games by defeating Hong Kong 51. China was fifth in the league. Hong Kong and Korea finished at the bottom.
