NEW DELHI: Charanjit Singh, a former member of parliament and a prominent businessman, died here Thursday following a heart attack. He was 51.
Singh, who was admitted to a private hospital last month for treatment of a heart problem, suffered a heart attack at 0500 hours. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Singh, who is survived by his wife, is a former treasurer of the Delhi unit of the Congress (I) and also a former senior vice president of the New Delhi municipal committee, Owner of a five star hotel and a well known soft drink manufacturing company in the capital, Singh was earlier on the on the board of directors of the Air India and the Indian Airlines.
