BANGALORE: Twenty eight persons were feared drowned when a boat capsized in the Bheema River at village Haparagundi about 14 km from Gulbarga in the Karnataka.
The boat was carrying 45 persons and 17 of them were rescued, police said.
While 12 bodies have so far been traced, the fate of 17 others is yet to be known, police said.
Fire force personnel have mounted intensive search operation to trace the missing persons.
