NEW DELHI: Vishy Bandhu, deputy commissioner of income tax, resigned from service accusing the government of “unlawfully” stopping the proceedings initiated by him against the fundamentalist Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
In his letter of resignation Vishv Bandu, who was transferred to Madras, said: “the conduct of the ministry of finance since March 8, 1990 leaves much to be desired”.
“Its various acts since then to suppress truth and other vital facts from the public life have led to a situation in which no self-respecting civil servant can function, he said.
Vishy Bandhu has requested that his resignation from the civil services be accepted with immediate effect.
AS deputy commissioner of income tax, Vishv Bandhu had served notices on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in March to submit a detailed account of all cash collections and expenditures it made last year in connection with the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
