CHANDIGARH: Over the week 116 persons were killed in Punjab. Twenty four people, including six policemen were killed and about Rs 220,000 looted from a bank on Sept 17.
Four persons were shot in Gurdaspur district, two in village Begowal while a bullet riddled body was found hanging from a tree in Majitha district.
Three special police officers. One home guard and one Punjab Police constable were killed when six men disguised as government officers went to their house in the Beas area of Amritsar district and lined them up and gunned them down.
