A woman political activist, Dhanwant Kaur, leader of the women’s wing of a political party, the Janwadi Istri Sabha was gunned down along with her son when they were on their way to Thekar Sandhu village in Jalandhar district. Kaur succumbed to injuries in hospital while her son died on the spot.
