BHUBANESWAR: A cost effective technology developed by an illiterate farmer for increased rice production has drawn the attention of scientists who have recommended further research on it on scientific lines.
45 year old Trailokyanath Sen, of Sahadapada village under Jaleswar block of Orissa’s Balasore district, almost stumbled upon a method of generating a second crop from the stumps of paddy plants raised during the kharif (summer crop) season.
