CHANDIGARH: Baba Thakur Singh has denied his support to Capt Amarinder Singh’s candidature as Chief Minister in the event of the revival of the Punjab Assembly.

Baba Thakur Singh said Damdami Taksal did not support either Amarinder Singh or anyone else for forming any government in Punjab because the Taskal did not indulge in politics and was engaged in propagating Sikhism.

The Baba said the news suggesting Taksal’ support to the formation of government in Punjab was aimed at driving a wedge “between the Panth and the militant organisations”.

Bhai Mohkam Singh, Bhai Malkiat Singh and Bhai Darshan Singh, all belonging to the Taksal, also denied their support to the current efforts of forming a government in Punjab.
