MADRAS: The passport offices in all the four metropolitan cities of New Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay and Madras and Jalandhar city began issuing new more secured passport (MSP) which is claimed to be tampered and forgery proof.
The MSP unlike the old one had details like name, place, date of birth, passport number and photograph in the first page, while details like name of the parents, spouse, children and identification marks were written in the last page.
The columns seeking details about profession and colour of eyes had been dispensed with. Ultraviolent light machines had been installed at all the centers so that immigration officials could read the page numbers and other details which were otherwise not visible.
