PUNE: Assembly of five or more persons has been banned in this city, 200 km from the western Metropolis of Bombay, because of rising tension over violation of a Ganesh temple early Saturday.
The prohibitory orders were enforced from noon as a preventive measure after a temple in Shivaji Nagar near the India meteorological department observatory was violated.
An offence has been registered. No one had been arrested so far police said, adding that investigations were on.
