CHANDIGARH: Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh, will be invited to the farmers’ rally to be held at in New Delhi on August 9, said Devi Lal here Saturday, three days after he was sacked from the federal cabinet.
Addressing a press conference here, capital of his home state of Haryana, Devil Lal said hundreds of thousands of farmers would attend the rally.
The rally would “awaken the farmers about their rights, highlight their demands and strengthen their cause,” he added.
Devi Lal said that he had not called the rally to protest his dismissal. However, he “could do nothing if they (the farmers) raised the issue of his removal from the union cabinet,” he said.
