NEW DELHI: “Sheri Lutero, peecha chodo” (Urban looters, get off our backs) is the new slogan of the former deputy prime minister, Devi Lal.
Devi Lal, claiming to champion the cause of the nation’s farmers, Friday said this would be his slogan for the farmers’ tally being organised here on August 9.
Addressing a crowd of sympathisers outside his home, Devi Lal said the rally would coincide with the beginning of the “quit India” movement of August 1942.
“If our rallying cry then was Angrezo Bharat Chodo, our slogan today is ‘Sheri Lutero, peecha chodo,” he said.
