AMBALA: Satnam Singh and Pala Singh alias Pali were freed from police custody at the district courts here by two car born freedom fighters.
In a meticulous operation, the two freedom fighters escaped unchallenged after freeing their accomplices. A head constable was killed in the incident.
The head constable and four constables had brought 20 under trials from the Central Jail to the district courts.
Satnam Singh had been accused of being involved in the Talwara bank robbery and a murder case. He was being brought to the court to extend his remand. He had not been indicted.
