KANSAS CITY: The Sikh community of Kansas City invited on March 11, the “Center for Religious Experience and Study” (CRES) to the new Sikh gurdwara of Kansas City, for a Special Saturday evening service. CRES, which is an educational and interreligious institute, has been prompting interfaith dialogue and cooperation since 1982.
CRES along with all its members and friends was impressed with the grace and thoughtfulness of the service and appreciated the opportunity to learn about Sikhism. CRES minister Vern Barnet explained how Guru Nanak can be regarded as a forerunner of the modern interfaith movement.
*Jasjeet Kaur, a junior at Creston High School in Towa, won three gold, a silver, and two bronze medals at the Annual Academic Decathlon, held recently.
*Harinder Singh Nezar, asenior at Shawnee Msn. Northwest High School in Shawnee, KS, was inducted into National Honor Society on March 28, 1989.
