NEW DELHI Prime Minister Singh has asked minister of state environment Ms. Maneka Gandhi continue in office though she has her desire to be relieved following differences with her senior cabinet colleague Nilamani Routray.

Ms. Gandhi had handed over a letter to the prime minister personally Thursday and expressed here unhappiness over Routray’s decision to shelve the proposal to establish environment courts in the country.

While confirming that she had handed over a letter to the prime minister an official spokesman said Friday the prime minister has asked her to continue to work as minister of state for environment.
