AGARTALA: Ten persons were killed and at least 50 others injured, as large scale violence marred Sunday’s polling for the tribal area autonomous district council in Tripura, police said.
The polling, however recorded a voter turnout of 75 percent, according to reports reaching here.
The ten persons were killed in Teliamura and another Khowai subdivision in a series of clashes between the ruling Congress I TUJS combine and the opposition CPIM, the police said.
