ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has post ponded the second phase of her tour to the West Asian and Gulf States, the Pakistan television reported Thursday.
Bhutto was scheduled to leave on Saturday (June 2) for Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq to garner support of these influential Muslim states towards Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir, where Muslim militants are waging a bloody war of secession from the Indian union.
Fresh dates will be announced later, the television said, not giving any reasons for the postponement.
It is, however believed that the worsening law and order situation in Sindh had forced Bhutto to deter the trip.
