SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Editors Conference announced that the 5 week old suspension of publication of newspapers would continue until the Govt withdrew cases registered against some of the editors.

Mohammad Vakil, the editor of daily Farshtafa said that cases unthe terrorist and disruptive activate had been lodged against eleven Vakil charged the Govt of adopting a discriminatory attitude towards local press. He said many papers in Delhi had given more coverage to activities of militants without attorney action. He named India Today among others. The hostile attitude evident by the fact that the TADA in Srinagar had been abolished only court now was in Jammu and the editors framed would be in jail a month before they could get bail.
