SAS NAGAR (Mohali): Mrs. Bimal Kaur Khalsa MP has demanded that Mrs. Indira Gandhi should be posthumously prosecuted for Operation Bluestar. She also wanted the Govt to issue a white paper showing that the late prime minister repressed the Sikhs for political gains.
Khalsa addressing a press conference at her residence said, Indira Gandhi misused her power.
During operation bluestar she said thousands of innocent children and women were killed and Harmandir Sahib was damaged as were 38 other historic gurdwaras.
She said Indira Gandhi should be held guilty in the eyes of the law and all awards given to her withdrawn, as she was responsible for the Punjab problem, she should be declared an enemy of the country.
Khalsa also said the Govt had given hardly any help to the widows and children of Nov 1984 riots. She demanded houses be provided to widows and an orphanage at the site of Gandhi’s assassination. Only such steps could provide a healing touch to the Sikhs, she said.
