CHANDIGARH: There are indications that the Superintendent of Police Amritsar Harbhajan Chand was killed in a genuine road accident rather than a contrived ‘one as made out initially.
Chand a commandant of the BSF on deputation with Punjab Police for four years was killed and three others were seriously injured following a head on collision between their car and a truck on May 8 about 35 km from Amritsar.
The DGP Mr. KPS Gill said that the two occupants of the truck registered in UP and arrested on the spot were thoroughly drunk migrant laborers.
A case of rash and drunken driving has been registered against them.
