FAIRFAX, VA: On April 28, 1990 the Sikh Foundation of Virginia (SFV) children celebrated Earth Day at Gurdwara Sahib in Fairfax Station, Virginia. They planted azaleas, trees and other shrubs. More than fifty children and adults participated in this activity.

Also, children discussed the significance of Earth Day in their Punjabi and religion classes. The children’s participation was very enthusiastic.

One of the objectives of the youth committee of SFV is to encourage our children to participate in religious, social and cultural activities of our community as well as local, national and international significance.
