SAN JOSE: In a major achievement a turbaned Sikh, Mr. Gur Darshan Singh Kohli, has been employed’ by the Santa Clara county as a bus driver.

There is a rigorous three level test and the dress code rules are very strict when it comes to hair. Beards over two inches are not allowed and neither is headgear of any sort.

Mr. Kothli convinced the Santa Clara County Transportation Agency that it was a religious requirement for Sikhs to keep unshorn hair and a turban to cover the head.

WSN congratulates Mr. Kohli for this accomplishment not only for himself but for the community,
