LONDON: London based Indian businessman Ajitabh Bachchan has formally served legal notice on two news organizations for libel action after they reported he was linked to the Bofors deal his solicitors said here on Friday.
Mr. Bachchan brother of movie star Amitabh had started libel action in British courts against Dagens Nyhter of Sweden and India Abroad News Service of New York.
“Now that legal proceedings are afoot in the two jurisdictions including in Sweden, it is open for anybody who has genuine evidence to produce the documents before these courts,” the solicitors said in a press release.
The lawyers also quoted Mr. Bachchan as reiterating that he was innocent.
