NEW DELHI: Akash, the medium range surface to air missile, 0 be flight-tested shortly, minister of state for defense, Dr. Raja Ramanna, told the Rajya Sabha.
Certain projects for future developments are being formulated in the field of guided weapons based on the overall emerging scenario, the minister said.
He, however, declined to disclose these as “‘it will not be in public interest.”
He said flight trials with Trishul (short range surface to air missile), Prithvi (surface to surface missile) and Nag (third generation anti-tank missile) were also undertaken.
Agni the technology demonstration vehicle also developed under this program, had been successfully launched on May 22 last year, he said.
