CHANDIGARH: Deposing before Mr. Justice H.S. Rai Commission of Enquiry probing death of Mr. J.S. Khudian MP from Faridkot his son, Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that he suspected that his father’s political opponents were after his life. He further submitted that he had expressed his apprehensions to all the police officers and others who met him from time to time but no action was taken by the police.

He also deposed that he had also conveyed the same apprehensions to Mr. Simranjit Singh Mann, President Akali Dal (Mann).

He said the dead body of his father was neither recovered in his presence nor was not identified by him after recovery from the canal.

He said the post mortem was delayed at the instance of the police by 2 1/2 hours who were waiting the arrival of the DGP, Punjab, Mr. K.P.S Gill. He had been conveying to the authorities who came in his contact that he had no confidence in the Punjab police and _ the investigation he got done from some other agency. He denied having made any application in this regard.

He denied that the inquest report was prepared in his presence when dead body was lying, on the canal bank. The witness however admitted his signature on the inquest report but said that his signatures were obtained at Faridkot.
