LOS ANGELES: The Sikh gurdwaras of Los Angeles Inc. (Lankershim Blvd) celebrated its first anniversary by organizing a kirtan darbar in the memory of Bhai Mardana ji, a first kirtania of Sri Guru Nanak Dev. Ji. This is for the first time that a function has been arranged in the memory of Bhai Mardana ji by any Sikh Gurdwara abroad. The kirtan darbar _ in which Giani Padam Singh of Buena Park, Giani Sohan Singh Rasia of Vermont, Prof Jaspal Singh Giani Sant Singh Haz ori Ragi of Gurdwara Lankershim and Bhai Jaswant participated continued till 11:00 pm. The spacious hall of Gurdwara Sahib Lankershim was full to the capacity. The sangat was overwhelmed with the melodious
“sur” and “tal” in which gurbani was recited by these ragis.
Waheguru blessed S. Sarbjit Singh Mann president S. Malkiat Singh Sidhu, chairman and S. Surinder Singh Sidhu vice president of the management committee, to serve the sangat with guru ka langar.
It is worthy to mention that the opening ceremony of this Gurdwara sahib was performed in March 89.
