AMRITSAR: A resolution asking Sikhs to support Pakistan in the event of a war with India was passed at an AISSF convention held here on Feb 28.
The function organized by the Buttar faction of the AISSF was to commemorate the sacrifice made by martyrs for the Khalistan movement. The demand for a sovereign Sikh state was categorically reiterated at the outset. Also demanded was associated membership of the UN.
The slain AISSF gen secy HLS. Sandhu had shortly before he was killed, written to the UN general secretary in this regard.
Prominent among those who attended were Bibi Bimal Khalsa MP and the Chairman of the PHRO.
Resolutions were passed in favor of the Kashmiri, Bodo and other freedom struggles in India.
Earlier, the Panthic Committee of Baba Wassan Singh Zafarwal, had also appealed to Sikhs to actively back Pakistan in the event of a war and also to join hands with the militants in Kashmir.
