I can understand M.S. Sidhu’s grief and disappointment in the way things are going on in our beleaguered ancestral land. I can understand his frustrations, sorrow and hurt to see so many people selling their souls for silver and I can understand his emotions in calling these Sikhs stupid.
I do believe that Prof Sidhu has personal knowledge of these concerns that so many of us share. And maybe he will shed some light on these issues and in doing so feel better, and lighten his sorrow.
First there has always been a concern about the circumstances under which late Harminder Singh Sandhu left the Harmander Sahib instead of making the ultimate sacrifice like Bhai Amrik Singh and Sant ji and thousands of others to protect our holy place of worship from being desecrated by the Hindu armies.
He along with the crooked Sikh politicians like Mr. Tohra and Sant Longowal who have all along been selling out for money left Sri Harmander Sahib and landed in prison and was ultimately released.
Professor Sidhu is well aware that the Hindu government murders anybody who cannot be bought pressured out or had any value for the Sikh movement for freedom. The Hindu Government of Rajiv Gandhi murdered these men in jails or while being transported to some obscure location under heavy police guard.
Currently there was case of sedition registered against late Mr., Harminder Singh Sandhu and yet he was not picked up and put in the prison, why?
The murdering machinery that has been put in place by the previous government of Rajiv Gandhi is still fully operational in Punjab, and what are those cut throats doing these days?
Whose payroll are they on? And what are they supposed to be doing?
Who is pulling there strings?
Who stands to gain the most from these actions?
Who has the motive for these crimes?
Who controls the press, the very press that starts most of these rumors?
These questions can be answered only by one and each time you will get the same answer from any reasonable, sane and unbiased person, and the answer is, it the Hindus in this government and in the one previous to it.
Further his contention that if the Amnesty International were to go to Punjab, they might conclude that everything is O.K. All that needs to be said in that regard is that there is time to be realistic and serious.
The statement is not only untimely rather it is presumptuous as well!
Finally I would like to know why Mr. Sidhu ignored all the facts about the Modus Operandi of the fascist Hindus and assumes the worst about the Sikh Youth.
Granted that we have a long way to go and granted that we have traitors amongst us, still it is no reason to beat ourselves to a pulp or get.so’ discouraged and feel so hopeless that we can’t see all the great qualities our community has and overlook all that we as a community have accomplished. History is our witness, as always we will overcome whatever obstacles lay in our path.
We won the freedom for the Brahmins and Banias of Hindustan, for them, and you can be as sure as the sun rises that we will win freedom for ourselves and do it in a lot less time.
