PATNA: Gold, used for long to treat rheumatoid arthritis, might now be used to treat Kala-Azar the dreaded killer disease.
A paper by a team of doctors from the Darbhanga Medical College, Bihar said that the medicos had conducted experiments on ten patients, who showed “excellent” Clinical response to treatment with sodium aurothiomalate -a drug derived from gold.
