SRINAGAR: Militants shot dead two Border Security Force personnel and wounded a civilian in the Chhanpora locality last week.

An official spokesman said unidentified militants attacked the two border security forces personnel while they were making purchases from a shop.

The shopkeeper, who was injured in the shootout, was admitted to a hospital.

State governor Jagmohan condemned the crime and announced ex-gratia amount of Rs 1.25 lakh (125,000) each to the next of kin of those killed.

He announced a relief of Rs 5,000 to the injured shopkeeper, the spokesman said.

Jagmohan also promised government’s job to the adult dependents of the deceased.
