FREMONT, CA: A fund raising function for Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh of the Council of Khalistan was held at the Gurdwara Sahib here on February 18. It met with a positive response from the Sikhs living in the area.
“India is perturbed at our exposing her to the law makers in Washington, said Dr. Aulakh. He was introduced by Gurdial Singh of Panth Khalsa Radio.
Dr. Aulakh appreciated the grass root level work of the Bay Area. He also spoke about the bill to the introduced before the Congress on February 21 by Representative Wally Herger to deny the “most favorable nation” trade status to India till the human rights violations cease in that country.”

He also referred to the desperate attempts by Indian government officials in Washington to forestall the bill. He called upon the Sikh community to meet their Congressmen and Senators and tell them about the Indian oppression.
- Balbir Singh Ragi gave an analysis on the achievements of Sikhs and Sikh organizations. He stressed the importance of involvement at local level of the Sikhs.
Mrs. Gurbax Kahlon appreciated Dr. Aulakh’s work and said that he was ensuring that the grass root work done at various places was properly utilized in Washington,
Dr. Ajit Pal Singh Sandhu stressed on the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji who had made the downtrodden people into Sardars. Ravinder Sher gill and Kulwant ‘Singh also addressed the congregation; Dr. Aulakh was given an approximate sum of $6,000 at the raising.
Dr. Aulakh visited Stockton on December 19th and addressed Sangat at Gurdwara Sahib.
