CHANDIGARH: About 1,400 people arrested under various militant related offences have been released by the Punjab government as part of the normalization process in the state, official sources said.
The sources said most of them were booked for harboring militants raising objectionable slogans and carrying country made pistols.
Out of 1,400 people, about 1,000 were already on bail and the remaining were being released.
