SRINAGAR: In continuing violence, Srinagar city and Kupwara townships in Kashmir were rocked by two bomb blasts Sunday while subversives set on fire an irrigation pump house and five school buildings in different parts of the Kashmir valley since Saturday night.
(Over 20 persons have died in the past week and curfew continues in at least 11 towns).
An explosion in Geological Survey of India premises at Rajbagh Sunday completely damaged a pick-up van parked in the compound.
Another blast damaged the residence of one Gulam Hassan in the early hours of Sunday morning at Kupwara townships in North Kashmir; No one was injured in the incident.
Five government schools and an irrigation pump house were also damaged in incidents of fire in different parts of the valley since Saturday night.
In Srinagar, government school building at Habak, Nawa Kadal and Amda Kadal were damaged in fire during the night.
While one government school was damaged in Mohammad Pora locality in Pulwama district, another was damaged in Nanil village in Bijbehara Township Saturday night.
‘One person was injured in firing incident near Paibug locality in Anantnag Saturday night.
Police, however, described the incident as “personal enmity”. The injured person, who was rushed to the hospital, was stated to be out of danger.
