BANGALORE: Guru Nanak birthday celebrations at the historic Guru Nanak Jhira in Bidar, scene of Hindu-Sikh riots in September, passed off peacefully today.
Some 2,500 Sikh pilgrims attended the celebrations including three of the five, “Panj Pyaras.”
Tight police bandobust is being maintained in the town with people wanting to enter the Gurdwara having to pass through metal detectors, the police said here.
Senior police officials said no untoward incident was reported in Bidar district.
