CHANDIGARH: Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal and Mr. Jagdish Rai Monga, President and general secretary of the Punjab unit of Bhartiya Janata Party on Wednesday held Congress 1 Government at the Centre “fully responsible for the chaotic conditions that exist in Punjab today.” ‘Addressing a joint news conference here on Wednesday, the newly elected leaders said the Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was “not at all interested in solving the Punjab problem.”
He wants to linger on this issue till the Lok Sabha elections to divide the votes on communal lines as he did in 1984, they alleged.
The leaders reiterated their demand for immediate deployment of Army in border districts of Punjab and creating of a security belt along the Indo-Pak border.
