“In This Dark Age, The Rulers Have Become Butchers; Truth Is Eclipsed And Falsehood Stalks The Land Like

The Dark Amavasya Night.” GURU NANAK

“Without Political Patronage, Religion Cannot Survive Absence Of Religion Leads To Political Anarchy.”

“Koi Kisi Ko Raj Na De Hain, Jo Koi Le Nij Bal Se Le Hain.” GURU GOBIND SINGH JEE

The task of nation-building entails great suffering and sacrifice. A nation cannot be built on the basis of expediency. Guru Gobind Singh had to undergo great hardships and sufferings to found a nation. After passing through the tyrannical persecution of the 17th and 18th centuries, Sikhs achieved their territorial sovereignty in 1799 and became an independent, sovereign nation under Ranjit Singh, their king, who is known to history as “the Lion of the Punjab.” It was one of the most powerful kingdoms in the world in the 19th century.

In 1849, the Sikh kingdom was annexed to British India but the idea of a sovereign Sikh state has never been far from the Sikh mind. They lost their chance in 1947 to regain the lost freedom due to failures of Sikh leadership.

Both from legal and equitable points of view, from 1929 until now, the Hindu majority government of India has been, is, and persists in continuing to remain the betrayer of 13 million Sikhs.

The 1984 massacre by the government forces during and after the invasion of the Golden Temple, and state terrorism against Sikhs in India have brought us to the point of no return. ’

The Sikh Nation must work for its destiny, “sovereign independent Sikh Homeland, “which will be the only guarantee for their safe future.

It is the moral duty of every Sikh organization or individual to work for the glory of the Panth. Visit of Honorable Governor Thomas H. Kean of New Jersey to Gurudwara Brid- gewater, and proclaiming April 13, 1988 as Vaisakhi Day; advertisement in India Abroad June 3, 1988 and participation in Sikh Parade and demonstrations are the valuable contributions towards the Sikh cause by this association.
