AMRITSAR, Punjab, India: Miracles are not uncommon at holy places. A miracle recently took place at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib —— birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev —— in Pakistan. According to the Waqf Board authorities controlling Sikh shrines in Pakistan, a tubewell installed in the premises of the 450year old shrine was pumping sweet water while the entire surroundings of Nanakana Sahib had water unfit for drinking. This miracle of sweet water coming out from the tubewell by the pilgrims who returned from Pakistan after visiting various Sikh shrines over there.
To meet the demand of providing water for the holy tank, a tubewell was sunk in the premises of the shrine two months ago, and to the surprise of all sweet water came out for the first time in the area known of engineers to locate Sweet water in other parts of the town failed.
More tubewell are being dug in the Gurdwara premises for supplying drinking water to the 8,000 population of this historic town.
