CHANDIGARH: The Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s proposal to call an all parties meeting did not provoke any significant response. This was stated by K.N. Singh, General Secretary of A.I.C.C. He regretted that the opposition par ties have not come forward to Response positively to these proposals. He described the Prime Minister’s announcement as a new initiative to solve Punjab problem. In his opinion the General Secretary of AICCI said, “That no party who does not believe in the integrity and unity of the country will be invited to the meeting.” He, told that both of the factions of the Akali party would be invited to that meeting. He expected the first round of talks will take place before the next visit of the Prime Minister to Punjab next month.
